Workshops 1–4 objectives

  1. Understand types of epidemiological studies: observational, analytical, and experimental.
  2. How to select the best study design for your research.
  3. Understand different sampling techniques, including probability sampling with practical examples.
  4. Prepare a questionnaire and chart review form.
  5. Select ready-to-use questionnaires.
  6. Write a proposal for different study designs.
  7. Calculate sample size and prepare a statistical analysis plan for different study designs.
  8. Understand tips for a successful grant application.
  9. Write a manuscript.

Workshops 5–8 objectives

  1. Classify clinical research data according to variable type and study design.
  2. Apply appropriate descriptive statistical methods to real clinical datasets.
  3. Create and manage a research database using SPSS, including basic data cleaning.
  4. Interpret SPSS output tables accurately and translate findings into publication-ready results.
  5. Understand and interpret point estimates and confidence intervals.
  6. Critically appraise the statistical methodology of published clinical studies.
  7. Apply advanced statistical methods appropriately in clinical and epidemiological research settings.
  8. Select suitable parametric and non-parametric tests based on study design, variable type, and data distribution.
  9. Conduct and interpret bivariate and regression analyses using SPSS.
  10. Interpret statistical estimates, confidence intervals, and p-values within clinical context.
  11. Perform and interpret survival analysis using Kaplan–Meier methods.
  12. Critically evaluate the appropriateness of statistical methods used in published clinical studies.
